Locating a Brand's URL

Step 1: Type the brand’s name in the search box, press Enter and click on Filter and then Channels. This will only show channels based on your search.

Step 2: Click on the brand you’re looking for and copy the link at the top of the page, which is the URL.

Locating a Brand's URL for a specific region

Step 1: Type in the brand followed by the region in the search box. For example, if you’re looking for Ford’s presence on YouTube for the UK, type "Ford UK."

Step 2: Click on Filter and then Channel. Once you find the channel matching Ford UK, copy the link at the top of the page, which is the URL.

Locating a Brand's URL from a video

Step 1: Click on the channel icon located below the video.

Step 2: Copy the link of the tab that opens. This is also the URL for the brand channel. Remember that the channel URL might look slightly different here.

For example, Chevrolet’s channel URL when we simply search for it is:

However, if one finds the channel URL via a video, Chevrolet’s YouTube channel URL is:

Both are acceptable and can be used to find brands on Unmetric.

Locating a Brand's URL from Custom URL

For adding a YouTube profile with Custom URLs (Example:, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Right-click the page → view page source, when the source page opened, search with the word externalId, and you can get the channel ID like this: "externalId":"UCO9e0tqE1Zh-iHtofu08pxA".

Step 2: Using the externalId, construct the URL like this to search it in the Unmetric platform.

Acceptable YouTube URL Formats

There are three different variations of YouTube URLs you may encounter:

  • Channel URL (ID-based):
  • Legacy username URL:
  • Custom URL: (Note: Follow the steps above to make this URL format usable on the platform)

To remain compliant with YouTube's API terms and conditions, it's only possible to successfully track YouTube Channels via either the channel URL or a legacy username URL. It's not possible to track a channel using the custom URL.
